Improving The Students' Reading Comprehension Skills Of Report Text Through SCROL Strategy At SMA Muhammadiyah XI Padangsidimpuan. In writing this script the writer is supervised by Erni Rawati Sibuea, S.S., M.Si First Supervisor and Rosni Harahap M.Pd Second Supervisor.This classroom action research aims to improve the students' reading comprehension skills of report text through the SCROL (Survey, Connect, Read, Outline, and Look Back) strategy at SMA Muhammadiyah XI Padangsidimpuan. The subjects of the study were 20 students of class XI. The research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The data were collected through tests, observation, and documentation.The results showed that the students' reading comprehension improved significantly after the implementation of the SCROL strategy. The average score increased from 48.5 in the pre-test to 66.5 in the first cycle, and reached 85 in the second cycle. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the SCROL strategy effectively enhances students' ability to understand report texts.

Improving Students Reading Skill Through Digital Storytelling Method At Tenth Grade of SMA Negeri 8 Padangsidimpuan

This study aimed to improve students’ reading skills through the implementation of the Digital Storytelling (DST) method at the tenth grade of SMA Negeri 8 Padangsidimpuan. The background of this research was students’ low reading comprehension, limited vocabulary mastery, and minimal engagement during English reading lessons. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) consisting of two cycles: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The participants were 35 tenth-grade students selected using total sampling. Data were collected through reading comprehension tests, observation sheets, and documentation. The findings revealed a significant improvement in students’ reading skills. The mean score increased from 57.34 in the pre-test to 65.75 in Cycle I and reached 80.69 in Cycle II. The percentage of students achieving mastery learning improved from 40% to 68.57% and finally 88.57%. The study concludes that Digital Storytelling is an effective instructional method to enhance students’ reading skills and classroom engagement.

ENHANCING ELEVENTH GRADE STUDENTS' DESCRIPTIVE WRITING SKILLS THROUGH ANIMATED SHORT FILMS AT SMA NEGERI 1BATANGTORU

This research was conducted to determine whether the Animated Short Films is good to be applied in improving students' writing descriptive text. The number of samples in this study were 76 students who were randomly selected from XI-IPA 2 and XI-IPA 3 class. To get the required data, the writer used method under quantitative methodology by Class Action reasearch (CAR) Design. In this case the data and sample from students of SMA Negeri 1 Batangtoru for the academic year 2024 - 2025. And as an instrument for collecting data, the writer uses a written test. After collected the data the writer analyzed and get the conclussion as athe result of this reserach. The result of the research showed that the students writing descriptive skill after using Animated Short Films. The finding can be show as in hypothesis testing were the increasing of the students' writing descriptive skill scores are categorized into the bad category. This can be seen from the average value of the pre-test writing, which is 61.25. While, after applied Animated Short Films categorized into the enough and good category. This can be seen from the average scores of students' post-tests in cycles 1 and 2, namely: 73.29 and 80.79. Based on the findings the hypothesis was accepted. So, there is a significant improvement of studnets’ writing descriptive skill through Animated Short Films. This research finding can be use by the teacher in order to improving the students’ skill in writing descriptive.

ENHANCING POETRY READING SKILLS THROUGH DRAMATIZATION TECHNIQUE IN TENTH GRADE OF SMK NEGERI 1 PADANGSIDIMPUAN IN 2024-2025 ACADEMIC YEAR

This research was conducted to determine whether the Dramatization Technique is good to be applied in improving students' Poetry Reading skills. The number of samples in this study were 72 students who were randomly selected from X₁TKJ and X₃TKJ class. To get the required data, the writer used method under quantitative methodology by Class Action reasearch (CAR) Design. In this case the data and sample from students of SMK Negeri 1 Padangsidimpuan for the academic year 2024 - 2025. And as an instrument for collecting data, the writer uses a written test. After collected the data the writer analyzed and get the conclussion as athe result of this reserach. The result of the research showed that the students writing descriptive skill after using Dramatization Technique. This can be seen from the average scores of students' post-tests in cycles one and two of 72.50 and 81.46. Based on the findings the hypothesis was accepted. So, there is a significant improvement of studnets’ Poetry Reading skills through Dramatization Technique. This research finding can be use by the teacher in order to improving the students’ skill in Poetry Reading.
